For ambitious singers/students it is very important to have roles from the standard operarepertoire on their CV in order to get auditions for agents and operahouses. Unfortulately the Music Colleges don’t provide enough opportunities for their singers to learn and perform these roles.
For others singers it is just a joy and passion to sing and study a whole role in an opera.
Dutch Opera Studio creates the possiblity for both groups (professionals /students/very good amateurs) to perform these operas in daily workshops as a daily singthrough and/or weekly fully staged summercourses.
Albert Herring will be studied and staged in one week. We work with max. 2 casts and every cast gets their own performance. We will work Saturday/Sunday/Wednesday/Thursday/Friday in the daytime and Monday/Tuesday in the evenings and we will perform the opera Saturday and Sunday, so every participant gets the opportunity to perform her/his role at least once.
