Coaching by soprano Wiebke Göetjes

Wiebke Göetjes was born and raised in Monnickendam, The Netherlands. She studied at the Conservatory of Utrecht with Marianne Blok. At the same time she studied in the Opera class of the Royal Conservatory in The Hague directed by conductor Kenneth Montgomery. After finishing the Music Academy she studied with famous Coloratura Cristina Deutekom for many years. She currently works with Gabriela Schnaut and Annett Andriesen.

After her graduation she was immediately given a contract for the role of Carlotta Giudicelli in the Dutch version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s musical “The Phantom of the Opera”, a part which she performed about 600 times in two years!

After Phantom she was engaged by the Südthüringer Staatstheater Meiningen to make her German debut as Aida. The start of her international carreer. Many engagements followed. She sang all the great parts such as Tosca, Aida, Abigaille, Turandot, Senta, Elisabeth/Tannhäuser, Senta, Ariadne, Fidelio in a variety of German operahouses. She worked with great directors as; Peter Konwitschny, Brigitte Fassbaender, Pet Halmen, Christoph Nel, Ernö Weil, and conductors; Kenneth Montgomery, Ivor Bolton, Marc Minkowski, Lothar Zagrozec, Marie Jeanne Dufour.
